AGAPE BAGS

Following these instructions ensures that all Agape Bags are the same size. Material patters are as varied as the material available.

Material

  • Each yard of 44 to 45” fabric yields 4.5 bags.
  • Each yard of 60” fabric yields 7.5 bags.
  • The design on the bags is sideways, but this is the most economical use of the fabric

Ribbon for Draw String Directions

  1. Cut each yard of fabric into 3 strips.
    Each strip measuring 12” X 44”
  2. Cut each strip into 3 pieces — 12” x 14 2/3”
From one yard you will have 9 pieces, each measuring 12” x 14 2/3”
  3. Place two panels right sides together and stitch a 3/8” to 1/2” seam around three sides. NOTE: about 3/4” down from the top of one side, leave an opening about 3/4” long.   This opening will allow the drawstriiig to be pulled to the outside.
  4. Turn bag right side out, at the raw edge at the top fold under 3/4” to the wrong side and stitch near the raw edge for casing.
