Psalm 113:3

From the AE Community Lay Director:
Let me start out with a thank you to S.C. Basnight for taking over the August gathering and board meeting so that I could take off for the weekend.  My family piled into the van on Friday morning and headed to Baltimore, Maryland to watch my nephew play baseball.  You need to realize that my nephew is Trot Nixon and he plays right and center field for the Boston Red Sox so for us he is “special".   We sat on the first row right at third base so we felt like we were in the game.  All together we had 26 family members to go so it was a great weekend.
However, sitting there with 49,000 other people opens your eyes and ears to just about everything imaginable.  The scripture that tells us that we are the light in a dark world came to mind as the language etc. around me reminded me of just how important that mission for us is.   We really are the only Bible some people ever see.   Sometimes we are fooled into thinking that surely in America everyone knows Jesus but in a crowd like that one you realize that is far form the truth.  I also became very aware of the wonderful blessing just living in Northeastern North Caroline is ..thank you God.
Thanks to  Bernie, JoAnne and anyone who worked to line up a great day for Christian fun and rejuvenation at Camp Cale.  They needed help with food set-up, games, lifeguards, music, singers, clean up, and other things and once again the community volunteered to help.  With everyone pitching in, no one had to carry too heavy  a load.  A fun day with praise singing, relaxation, games, 4th day talk, and communion was enjoyed by  all.  Remember this is an annual event so if you missed it this year make sure you mark your calendar for next year and bring the family and friends and I’ll see you there.
     GOD BLESS
                 Barbara
