From the AE Community Lay Director:
We have just held our first set of adult walks at the new 4-H center. Again, God has brought many blessings our way. Many times we are afraid of change and get caught up in doing things as they have always been done. This change in locations was not perfect and is not completely finished, but we saw God's Spirit make it holy ground. In the same way He uses us as imperfect and incomplete vessels through which to do His work.
As you become more determined to do His will, be prepared to get satan's attention. It is his standard operating procedure to put turmoil in the form of confusion, unworthy feelings and overwhelming doubt. he brings ideas to you that you are the wrong person for a job or that someone else could do better. Be prepared to fight him with prayer and continue to allow God to do His will in your life and in this Emmaus Community. And be prepared to see God work through you in a holy way.

  De Colores, Barbara

ATTENTION CHRYSALIS TEAMERS:     If you have ever teamed on Chrysalis, please contact Amy Mundie or Debby Futrell with the flight #, flight name, your job, and table names you remember. Debby and Amy are serving as our Chrysalis Historians and are working to put together a history record of all the flights we have had so far. If you have any old logos or are willing to let them scan your group picture it would also be helpful. We especially need info from flights 1 - 5.

AGAPE ALERT !!!!  WE NEED PLACEMATS !!!!

SPONSORSHIP TIPS:
  1. Pray for the person's openness to God's call to discipleship, not for how to get him or her to go on a walk.
  2. Make an appointment to visit the person or couple to discuss the possibility of them attending a walk.
  3. Extend an invitation. Invite them to attend for the sake of a more vital relationship with Jesus Christ, not just a weekend to get away. Share YOUR faith and explain the basic elements of the walk.... it's purpose and how it helps us live in a life of grace for the rest of our lives. Have the attitude that you are giving them a wonderful gift rather than that they need to go.
  4. Ask them to make a commitment by filling out the application form. If the person is married, speak with both partners and encourage an equal commitment by both spouses.
  5. Continue to pray and when they agree to go and are accepted on a weekend, prepare agape letters and enlist the support of their pastor and family to collect personal agape letters.
