In some ways I can hardly believe that this year is already over for me and that this is my "last words" to the community. It has been a busy year and a good year for Albemarle Emmaus. We have successfully made the move from Wakefield to Tyrell and the Holy Spirit followed/led us all the way. We have had some awesome candlelights and closings with the walks so close to home for most of us and God is working His power over and over.

So many times when we finish a big job we are tempted to "burn our bridges" and move on  .  .  .  but not me. I realize the treasures of this bridge in my life are all of you. The growth and joy that are mine because of the chance to be the lay leader have made this a bridge that I will backtrack over many times. It is the bridge that moves forward and joins me to many friends and God-made memories. It is a bridge where I learned many lessons; enjoyed lots of agape love and witnessed the power of prayer and hope. It has been said "Our bridge of hope to carry us through tomorrow is built of the work of kindness today."   My prayer for you and me is to live each day in an attitude of loving-kindness for others. We never know when someone will need to rest on our bridge of hope. ((Our bridge is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness)).
      Thanks for everything  . . . . . . .    Barbara
