I thank God for all who brought completed placemats to the Berea Gathering Saturday and who so willingly took on more to do. We are still in need of more completed placemats to get us through the next two walks. I passed out over 1200 placemats at the gathering. We appreciate all that you can do to get them completed and back to us prior to March 8. We need "generic" type placemats. We have plenty of the "Good Morning" and "De Colores" at this time. Call us and we will make arrangements to meet you to pick them up. Our next items to work on will be the felt flowers and 1st stones. If you are unable to work on these items but would be willing to purchase felt or stones for someone else to do, let us know that, too. We will make the connection.
Bless you all,
Mandy Morgan 252-482-3618 and Joy Denton 252-482-7105 jbdenton@hotmail.com

Applications are still available for the upcoming 25th anniversary celebration of Emmaus this July 24 - 27, 2003. Do not wait until the last minute and risk missing a very special event. Pursue that Nashville registration and go in July with many of your AE community friends. Many are already pursuing registration and booking room reservations. Early completion will assure you will not be left behind. July may seem a long way off; however, you should commit now or run the risk of missing something very special. S.C. Basnight, our AE Lay director, currently has a large supply of information and event registration forms. Information is available at www.upperroom.org/emmaus/25th, and a brochure is on our own web site at the 25 years of Emmaus page, or contact Jean Basnight
Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Post Office Box 787 Manteo, NC 27954 (252) 473-2089 ext. 21 The AE community will receive an "Earlybird" discount off each registration received by April 1. The earlybird discount lowers the individual registration cost to almost 1/2 the registration fee on everything received after June 1. To make sure you qualify for the group earlybird discount, get your registration and money to Jean Basnight by March 15 and she will send them all in together. Hotel reservations are separate from your event registration and must be confirmed by calling the toll free number 1-800-657-6910. Mention that you are booking rooms for the 25th Anniversary Emmaus Event. At newsletter printing, rooms are available at the Rennaisance Hotel, part of the Nashville Convention Center. Don't feel like driving to Nashville? Then charter Gallop Coach Service in Virginia Beach, VA, for the 700+ mile trip. If you would like to coordinate a chartered bus, contact Gallop at (757) 420-3135. Then you can pass that information on the AE community by sending an email to |

Chrysalis News |
BUTTERFLY BOOSTERS:
Would you like to be a "Butterfly Booster" ?Sometimes our Chrysalis Youth have a Christian friend who they would like to send on a flight. They are willing and able to collect agape, but the $150.00 sponsor fee is tough for them.... So, if you would like to help these kids with the financial part of this gift to a friend....please call Monica Maynard (453-2177) and let her know to put you on the list. Your name won't be published, and you will only be contacted as a need arises and the Chrysalis board reviews and approves the help. Amendment of Chrysalis By-law Article V, Sec. 2D Was: Anyone serving on the Leadership team, with the exception of Spiritual Directors, must have served in a position outside of the Talk Room. This may be Chrysalis or Emmaus experience. This requirement pertaining to the position of Music Director will be left to the discretion of the Board. Revised as per 9 Feb, 2003: Anyone serving on the Leadership team, with the exception of Spiritual Directors, must have served in the position of Table Leader and in a position outside of the Talk Room. This may be Chrysalis or Emmaus experience. This requirement pertaining to the position of Music Director will be left to the discretion of the Board. |

YOU can help AE save money
If you need a paper copy of each month's newsletter we will send one, however, as our Albemarle Emmaus/Chrysalis mailing list continues to grow so grow the cost involved. We send out 700 copies each month about one week after each Gathering and it takes all week to print, sort, address and mail them. If you would like to save AE money think about dropping your &snail mail copy& and request an email notice each time a newsletter is posted to the AE web site. A simple
will start your request. Include in your message your name and mailing address & ask to be removed from the snail-mail list . . . it's that simple. . . . And you'll probably see the newsletter on the web before a paper copy makes it to your mailbox.
