Community Dates to Remember:

With the two fall walks quickly approching Albemarle Emmaus is ready to receive more of God's finest in to the community and want to do that with the greatest of ease. With that in mind we'd would like to make a few friendly reminders:

First of all, begin praying now for both walks - team, pilgrims, sponsors etc.

As a sponsor you are reminded to get personal letters for your Pilgrim from those most special to them. Keep in mind the quantity of letters is not important - what is important is that you know them well enough to get letters on their behalf that will be most meaningful for them.

It is very important that each envelope you collect have your Pilgrim's first and last name on it only. Please remember that there will probably be at least 25 other pilgrims that will also be "momma" or "daddy." It also makes it fool-proof to sort if all are labeled correctly.

Please remember to have all Agape sorted ALPHABETICALLY and separated by Pilgrim and Team. The community has grown so much and been so generous with Agape that Agape cha's work very hard just to fill bags and having to alphabetize Agape prior to filling bags is costly for them timewise.

Please bring your flowers for Maninitas to Candlelight Saturday night, not Sunday morning. Cha's take all flowers and divide them equally prior to bedtime Saturday night to have ready for distribution to Pilgrims Sunday morning.

Please be reminded that as community we are not to touch or hug pilgrims or team.

We are truely blessed with such a loving and caring community - let's just remember these guidelines are in place to aid in the logistics of the weekends thus making the most of the individual Pilgrim's experience.

Welcome AC # 21 Butterflies.
May your 4th day be blessed
and full of joy!

Announcements:

Albemarle Emmaus has found it is necessary to make a change to the cut off date for all applications  .  .  .  .    To avoid any confusion that might be created with applications due different dates of different months, the board voted on a standard cut off date of the first day of any month an application is due. This changes the date applications are due from the first Saturday of the month to the first day of the month.
Mark your calendars:

Emmaus Logo Application Due Date
Team Pilgrim
Women's Winter Walk  (mid January) October 1st November 1st
Men's Spring Walk  (early March) December 1st January 1st
Women's Spring Walk  (mid March) December 1st January 1st
Men's Fall Walk  (early October) July 1st August 1st
Women's Fall Walk  (mid October) July 1st August 1st

Another change, effective immediately, is that Chrysalis and Emmaus sponsor fees must be paid by the date due stated in the sponsor letter. If fees are not paid by the due date Pilgrims will not be permitted to attend the weekend. It is important that you save your sponsor letter when you receive it to keep informed of important cut off times.
Avoid being embarrassed and have your money in on time.

AC 21 How Great Thou Art

Chowan College was definitely Holy Ground as the Spirit moved in all of the team and caterpillars during the flight of AC 21.     God's amazing job of choosing team members, Spiritual Directors and caterpillars showed us all once again "How Great Thou Art"!     We even "broke in a couple first time SD's.     We would like to thank the community for all your prayers and support, during the teaming process and the flight, and for all the beautiful faces at candlelight (real candles, yeah!!) and Mananitas.     Sponsors, you did an incredible job of selecting youth that were ready and willing to participate in this awesome experience.     We thank the Pamlico Community for their help with teaming, and sponsorship of several caterpillars.     A special thank you to the churches and their members who hosted our team meetings and fed us the wonderful meals.     Snug Harbor, Warrick Baptist, Mt. Olivet UMC and New Hope UMC.     God bless you all.     Fly With Christ!!

Coinjock Baptist Church is having revival on September 7-11, beginning at 7:30pm, and we are praying for the Holy Spirit to annoint our church and surrounding community.

We want to invite the Emmaus Community to visit us during revival and have them as musical guests, share testimony, or just be with us as we praise and worship the Lord and hear His Word. If it is proper to do so, you can print this request or email it to the community as you see fit.

My email address is and my phone number is 252-232-3226. Anyone who has any questions can email me or call me at their convenience. We are excited about the things that we are planning around revival and expect the multiplied blessings of the Lord at our Revival Gathering!!

PRAYING IN SOLITUDE AND COMMUNITY Seminar
September 8 - 11, 2003
Lake Junaluska, NC

Discover a deeper, more meaningful prayer life this fall with help from Upper Room author Martha Rowlett.

Join Rowlett as she leads the workshop PRAYING IN SOLITUDE AND COMMUNITY September 8 - 11, 2003, in the peaceful mountain setting of Lake Junaluska, NC.

Sessions include a look at theological assumptions about prayer and a review of the variety of forms of Christian prayer for both individuals and for communities. The daytime schedule and the evening vesper services provide time to experience multiple ways of praying. Suggestions for organizing prayer ministries in the local church will be shared.

Evening Vespers in the Lake Junaluska chapel will include a Prayer Vigil, a Taize service, and a healing service. Bishop Richard Looney will participate in the daytime discussion of intercessory prayer and will be the speaker at the evening service of healing. Members of the Lake Junaluska ministry staff will provide music for the event.
