Only about twelve days left to get your Agape letters ready

Albemarle Emmaus has a new Email address:

   Friendly Reminders

With two fall walks soon upon us Albemarle Emmaus is about to receive more of God's finest into the community. With that in mind we would like to make a few friendly reminders:

First, begin praying now for both walks. Pray for each team member, all pilgrims, the sponsors etc.

As a sponsor you are reminded to get personal letters for your Pilgrim from those most special to that Pilgrim. Keep in mind the quantity of letters is not important - what is important is that you know them well enough to get letters on their behalf from the people that will be most meaningful for them.

As you collect each envelope make sure your Pilgrim's first and last name are on the outside of each envelope. Please remember that there will probably be at least 25 other "momma" or "daddy" pilgrims on the same walk just as there might be two or more "John" or "Sue" pilgrims. Having a Pilgrim's letter with their first and last name helps that letter make it to the right person on time. It also helps at sorting time if all are labeled correctly.

Remember to sort Agape A L P H A B E T I C A L L Y. Divide your Agape into Pilgrim and Team stacks, piles, bags or boxes and label that container. What takes a few seconds for you can save many, many minutes of work for Agape Chas as they deal with more than 80 Pilgrim and team members.

Flowers for Maninitas are due at Candlelight Saturday night. Cha's divide all flowers equally prior to bedtime Saturday night to have ready for distribution to Pilgrims Sunday morning. Bringing flowers the morning of Maninitas adds to an Agape Cha's already busy work schedule.

Please be reminded that as community we are not to touch or hug pilgrims or team.

We are truly blessed with such a loving and caring community - let's just remember these guidelines are in place to aid in the logistics of a pleasant weekend and to enhance each individual Pilgrim's experience.

Has your faith changed in the last five years? Micah Apolzon, (15) has found that talking about faith helps faith grow. To read this week's devo, visit: http://www.upperroom.org/devozine/2003/sepoct/devo.asp?week=current&issue=134250

THE PURPOSE OF KAIROS
The purpose of Kairos is to establish strong Christian communities among the populations of correctional institutions. This is done through the impact of small, 3-to-5 person share and prayer groups of leaders resident in the institutions. These groups meet weekly to share their lives on a deep spiritual level and to pray for one another, for other residents and staff in the institutions.

Kairos is a ministry of the church … a ministry of the apostles whom Jesus, the Christ, has called into community and sent forth into the environment of the correctional institution. Kairos has been called the best example of the early church in existence today.

The objective of Kairos is to impact the correctional environment through the action of the leaders, as apostles of Jesus Christ, in all areas of human activity in the prison.

Kairos publishes a newsletter, called God's Special Time, every other month. The most recent issue, in PDF format is at Sept./Oct. 2003

You can be a part of this movement, it's easier than you think.
