From your lay director’s heart . . .
 In a few days, most of us will pause from our usual routine or schedule to pray and give thanks for the many blessings God has bestowed upon us during the past year. We are truly blessed to live in country where we can publicly and openly give thanks without fear for our life. Thanksgiving is that special time to enjoy fellowship, reunions, and lots of good food with family and friends. As we celebrate this wonderful occasion, consider the two root words for Thanksgiving: thanks and giving. Yes, all of us are thankful to live in this great country where we can choose when, where, and how we worship. What a blessing! Genuine giving is that act of sharing with someone a part of us without expecting anything in return. Remember agape love on your walk . . . . This Thanksgiving, I invite each of us in Albemarle Emmaus to give anonymously to someone in need, without recognition or the expectation of receiving something in return. What a blessed Thanksgiving this can be for all of us in Albemarle Emmaus if we genuinely give of ourselves and our possessions in the spirit of agape love.
