Emmaus Community,

Another spirit-filled Kairos weekend is now in the record books! Pasquotank Correctional Institution Kairos #10 finished with the team and community in awe (again) at God's power through the love of His people. We want to thank you community for all of your support: the agape, cookies, and prayers!! Through you, God is making an awesome impact on the hearts of those men that are often abandoned by the rest of society!

Thank you and God bless,
Eric Lowe - PCI Kairos #10 Rector

Editor Note: Cookie count was reported to be 2,230 dozen, and there were enough links in the prayer chain for it to wrap around the gym 1-1/4 times. Thank you Community.

HOST CHURCHES FOR GATHERINGS:
A host church for a gathering is responsible for:
arrow  Unlocking the church so the communion committee can set up.
arrow  Providing a nursery for the first half (business) of the gathering.
arrow  Set up for refreshments. Church members should provide ice, cups, and plates.
arrow  Also provide any drinks and snacks (the visiting community may also bring snacks to help)
arrow  The host church DOES NOT have to provide communion.

If you are interested in sponsoring a Pilgrim or serving on an Albemarle Emmaus Team, mark these application cutoffs dates on your calendar:
Emmaus Logo Application Due Date
Team Pilgrim
Women's Winter Walk  (mid January) October 1st November 1st
Men's Spring Walk  (early March) December 1st January 1st
Women's Spring Walk  (mid March) December 1st January 1st
Men's Fall Walk  (early October) July 1st August 1st
Women's Fall Walk  (mid October) July 1st August 1st

Applications must be mailed to:
Albemarle Emmaus
Post Office Box 1198
Edenton, NC 27932
Albemarle Chrysalis
Post Office Box 2707
Elizabeth City, NC 27909
There really are no Pilgrim application cutoff dates, dates listed for first consideration, anything after that goes to the next walk unless space becomes available on something earlier. So mark your calendars.
And, while you're making notes, make a note that Chrysalis and Emmaus sponsor fees must be paid by the date due stated in the sponsor letter.   If fees are not paid by the due date Pilgrims will not be permitted to attend the weekend. That's one reason it is important that you save your sponsor letter when you receive it, to keep informed of all important dates.
Avoid being embarrassed and have your money in on time.

New Free Internet Browser

There has been a lot of recent Internet attention given to Firefox, a fairly new free Internet browser. Some people are claiming that Firefox is a more advanced browser and much more secure against hackers than the industry standard Internet Explorer. Microsoft stopped developing Internet Explorer some time ago. Coupled with its popularity as the major Internet browser Internet Explorer has become an open book for hackers to exploit any known security holes.   To date not everything works in Firefox the same as IE, but most likely programmers will fix any shortcomings soon as the popularity of Firefox continues to grow.

To download and try the new Firefox web browser, visit:   http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
