Please

Remember:
  • If you come to a Candlelight EARLY there’s plenty of time to sign ALL the placemats.
  • Turn Cell Phone and Pagers OFF before the Fourth Day Talk & Communion.
  • We NEVER, EVER touch Pilgrims or Teamers during a Candlelight Ceremony even if they reach out to us.
  • Weekends are for each Pilgrim to see Jesus & experience God’slove, not for us to draw attention to ourselves or so that we can stand out from the rest of the community.
  • Prayer requests and Prayer Vigil signups need to be printed clearly so the names can be read.

Kairos Prayer Request
Please Pray for Central Prison Kairos Weekend #25 in Raleigh, NC, the weekend of February 7-10, 2007.
David Beck from Hertford United Methodist Church is a Spiritual Director for that weekend.

A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING DAY

A CHRYSALIS DAY OF DEEPER UNDERSTANDING will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Plymouth First Baptist Church in Plymouth, NC.

As with all DoDU it will begin promptly at 2:30 pm and you will want to sign in so please plan to allow yourself a little extra time to do so.

A Day of Deeper Understanding is provided for all Caterpillars who have completed a Chrysalis Flight. The information provided is designed to give a new member of the community a “deeper understanding” of the purpose and structure of the Walk to Emmaus Movement which includes Butterflies from a Chrysalis flight weekend.

You will learn more about Sponsorship, Teaming, different forms of Agape and how you can become involved in the Chrysalis/Emmaus Community.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend even if you have already attended one. Some information may have been updated and there’s always a little something to learn by attending.

Please remember; in order to sponsor someone in the future as a Chrysalis Caterpillar or an Emmaus Pilgrim, or if you would like to team as a member of a Chrysalis Flight or Emmaus Walk, you must have attended a Day of Deeper Understanding. We welcome all new Chrysalis Community members and look forward to seeing a big crowd on Feb. 10.

LD Comments:
Happy New Year!

By now you’ve made all your new year resolutions, and you have already mastered them, right? Why do most new year resolutions pertain to our weight, our organization skills (or lack of), or bad habits?

  Psalm 40:3 reads:

He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Wouldn’t it be great if we made a resolution to be more joyful? A life without joy is like a piano out of tune, or a bone out of joint; it just doesn’t function properly. We can do nothing well without joy. Yes, God will give us a new song in our mouths and a hymn of praise to our God.

As a community, a family, or congregation, we can take this promise and turn our joy and song into laughter. We are a country that has forgotten how to laugh. In a world of “overload”, it almost comes natural to find the worst in everything, or become the devil’s advocate . . . or to create a worse-case scenario. With God’s promise, why shouldn’t we be able to find the good in all things and to turn that into sheer joy? . . . and give Him the glory!

No matter what your new year resolutions are, turn your thoughts to all the wonderful things that God has blessed us with. Take the time to build precious memories with friends, relatives, and colleagues, team members and within the entire Emmaus Community.

Make 2007 a year in which joy is present in all you do.   May God bless each of you this year!

    Joyfully!
  Freda Nelson

Seeking The Greatest World Wide Revival Ever

Date: Mon, 8 Jan 2007 08:49:01 -0800 (PST)
From: James OBrien
Subject: World Wide Prayer Focus
To: emmaus@albemarleemmaus.org

Greetings in Christ Jesus.

I write this prayer request in hopes that we might see The Greatest World Wide Revival ever. One where all Churches and Christians Truly in Christ Jesus will experience what we experienced in Emmaus/Chrysalis. This will also enable Emmaus/Chrysalis to be even stronger than ever.
My mission is to see every Church in Christ around The World to literally be seeing The Glory of God super strongly like never before and God is able. Also, all mankind will experience a touch from God, stronger than ever and God will bring more people to repentance than ever before.
If we can get 100,000’s of Christians to pray for all these things and in like manner then we may see The Greatest Revival ever.
Please pray daily/hourly/continually for World Wide Revival and get as many other Christians as you can to do it too.
Please pray daily/hourly/continually for all Servants of God and get as many other Christians as you can to do it too.
Please pray daily/hourly for all mankind and get as many other Christians as you can to do it too.

    Thank you for your help!

Looking Back at Albemarle Chrysalis Flight #28

God continues to do His part, and He did on AC 28.

We began with an awesome team that really prayed and showed up with intentions to serve.

I know that the male caterpillars experienced the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in an awesome way, and the Father’s unconditional love.

I believe if you would ask any of them they would tell you that they will always remember their encounter with the Lord on AC 28.

I thank the Lord for a great team and a well selected group of caterpillars.

As a good friend of mine would say “yea Lord”! Please pray about what youth in your church would benefit from a life changing experience on a chrysalis flight.

Fly With Christ!
      Bernie Jones
      - Adult Lay Director AC #28
Prayer works in all things. It was evident in the girl’s Talkroom.

You could see God working in the lives of the girl caterpillars.

We had some wonderful girl and boy caterpillars. God is so good!!

Thanks for all the prayers.

AC #28 Lay Directors
